About this Event:

This event begins at Cottonwood Park where we will learn about bat biology, then take a nature walk down the Truckee River, before seeing one of Nevada’s largest known bat colonies emerge at the McCarran bridge. This tour is great for all ages and knowledge-levels as it is one of the most marvelous natural wildlife displays in our area. There is street parking at Cottonwood Park, please meet the group at the park, the educator will have an NDOW class sign. Please do not attempt to meet the group at the bridge for safety reasons. The walk is paved the whole way, and the distance to the bridge and back to the park is about 1 mile total.
