About this Event:
As daylight fades, the Mojave Desert comes alive. Join the Nevada Department of Wildlife for a guided evening hike along the Ash Spring Trail in Calico Basin, where we'll search for the reptiles that emerge as temperatures begin to cool. During this approximately 1.5-mile hike, you'll discover the remarkable adaptations that help these animals thrive, learn about their important role in the desert ecosystem, explore the conservation challenges they face, and gain tips for safely and respectfully observing reptiles in the wild.
SPACE IS LIMITED, REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
Ages 12+
The trail is rated as easy with some areas of uneven, rocky terrain. Although the sun will be down, participants should still be prepared for hot weather. Sturdy footwear and plenty of water are strongly recommended.

There is much to learn about the animals that inhabit our great state, from animals found in our urban areas to those in the most remote places. Join us for a Wildlife Education Program where our educators will open the door for you to learn more about the bats, birds, snakes, and lizards of Nevada and so much more. These programs are for all age and experience levels. Registration is required.
