About this Event:
Are you new to the outdoor lifestyle and do not know where to start. Are you a seasoned outdoor adventure and looking to add to the tools in your tool bag. Are you curious to learn or use modern mapping technology to plan your next adventure? This class is for you. This class will teach students to use modern technology to plan an outdoor adventure. This could be hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, off-roading, exploring, biking, etc. This is a basic class designed to cover the use of online mapping programs and to give the user the confidence to use them. These tools will take some of the unknowns out of the trip planning process. Students are encouraged to download Alltrails and CALTOPO to sign up for the free account to get some hands-on experience in the class. The class will cover the proper use of on road mapping programs such as Google and Apple maps. Will cover the free app of Alltrails and the free account of CALTOPO. We will expand to the paid subscriptions of Gaia and Onx (Backcountry / Offroad). If you already have a subscription to Gaia or Onx, bring your device with you so you can get some hands-on use. Wifi is available at the Clark County Shooting Park, Education Center. If you do not like connecting to public WIFI you are more than welcome to bring your own internet connection device. Note: We will be in the middle of hunting season. If anyone is interesting in learning about Onx hunt or E-scouting, please let the instructor know.

About the Program
Overview:
Advanced Hunter Education courses cover topics outside of the Hunter Education certification course. Events include introduction to live fire, Dutch oven, hunting workshops, and more.
Live Fire Classes
Live fire classes are run by certified Range Safety Officers (RSO) instructing proper safety and handling of firearms. Key practices include wearing eye/ear protection, following specific Range Safety Officer commands, and understanding range-specific Standard Operating Procedures. Point the muzzle in a safe direction, treat every firearm with the respect due a loaded gun, be sure of the target and what is in front of it and beyond it, and keep your finger outside the trigger guard until ready to shoot. Events include introducing students to firing Rifles, Muzzleloaders, Shotguns and crossbows at a shooting facility. The class is free of charge, and all material is provided.
Workshops and Specialty Classes
Classes for the Nevada Tag Application process and interactive educational sessions on Nevada’s Antelope, Mule deer and Bighorn sheep are hosted throughout the state. Specialty classes include enhanced learning through hands-on experience in Wild Game Dutch Oven Cooking, Wilderness Survival, and Camping courses. Some classes are outdoors only, come prepared. Classes are free and all material is provided.
