About this Event:

Join us for an introduction to fly-fishing clinic at South Fork Reservoir. Students will learn the basics of casting, reading the water,  choosing flies and wading from shore. This is a great class for anglers who are interested in fly-fishing but don't where to start. All equipment is provided and students will receive one-on-one instruction. This is a two-part class, please see details below. 



  • Part 1: Casting practice on Thursday, April 30th from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at Elko City Park. 


  • Part 2: Fishing at South Fork State Recreation Area on Saturday, May 2nd from 8am to 12pm. Students are welcome to bring their own equipment, but fly fishing gear will be available for loan for those students who don't have any. Students must be 12 years of age or older. A valid Nevada fishing license is required (www.ndowlicensing.com).

Overview:

We may live in the driest state in the nation, but there are plenty of amazing fishing opportunities to be found in Nevada. From the classroom to the water, our Angler Education clinics will introduce you to various fishing techniques and all equipment needed for your next fishing outing. Clinics are open to everyone and are free, but a valid fishing license is required.
